What Are You Thankful For?

I'm thankful for . . .

Friends--new and old, near and far. Here are just a few of mine as we just enjoyed a "gals night out" with our dear Michelle McCune visiting from Dallas TX.

My Little Girl's Laughter--no matter what kind of day I'm having, when I hear her laugh, I realize the day isn't so bad after all.

Faith in God--to weather all the seasons of life!

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

But I Barely Know You . . .

Defining Your "Communication Protocal"
. . . a little departure from the "personal post" today, but since I just joined Facebook this summer (and I know many of you have done the same), I thought you might find this article interesting too!

P.S. And if I haven't asked you yet, "will you be my (Facebook) Friend?" =)

Dreaming of a White . . .

We Southern Californians dream about waking up to that white stuff on our front lawns and in our trees . . . though this isn't quite what we had in mind. Thanks to having a high-schooler around who has a friend that likes to tease her about baseball and football and who chooses to cheer on any other team besides her favorites (Angels; UCLA Bruins), we awoke to plenty of "white stuff"--enough to fill over two trash cans! You gotta admit though . . . it does look "picturesque" in a strange sort of way! Check out these You Tube sites showing the right way to TP and the wrong way to TP. . . and let us know about your TP experiences!

History in the Making . . .

. . . let's do our part tomorrow! Still on the fence about whether you should take the time to vote? This short video should remove all doubt-- http://aproundtable.org/
And, if you're a parent, talk with your kids about what's at stake tomorrow--driving the carpool recently with my 12-year old son and his good friend, I was reminded--these kids "get it" when I asked his thoughts on the election and he responded, "Well, my non-partisan observation is that both candidates will need to work key states . . . " Though the conversation quickly changed gears to girls and sports, I was encouraged and challanged to do my part in helping to shape the future of our country for our children! Be a part of history -- VOTE!

A Fairy Tale Night . . .

. . . for my little princess as she was wisked away in a white limousine with a charming prince. Rachel's first Homecoming. Another season of life for my young teenager. Homecoming 2008 looks different than my Homecoming in 19XX, but some things remain the same: boys and girls, fancy gowns and suits, corsages, limos, pictures (lots!) and proud parents who wonder how the years have flown by! Wasn't it yesterday that my little Rachel was playing dress-up . . . when she came out of her room as Snow White? Guess some things don't change though--once a princess, always a princess--but now she's actually going to the ball. Did you send your daughter (or son) off to Homecoming tonight? Remember your Homecoming--what was your fairy tale night like?
